The MacroView Data Distributor is a module that enables MacroView systems to share data with other MacroView systems securely and efficiently.
To improve company production and efficiency, data collected on one system is regularly required on other systems throughout the organisation. This is a common requirement with sites that are geographically separated and often operated individually, but require connectivity for sharing key operational data. One of the main issues encountered with these implementations is the increased data bandwidth as multiple servers constantly poll a single RTU/PLC or other servers for data updates. This increased bandwidth can impact on the performance of the RTUs and the network. The MacroView Data Distributor solves this problem by utilising Push technology. When a system has been enabled as a MacroView Data Distributor Server, multiple MacroView systems can subscribe to any or all of the points on the Server. The Server will then monitor the subscribed points and only “push” them to the clients when their value changes.
This Push technology solution significantly reduces network bandwidth and efficiently allows other MacroView systems to have the most up-to-date information across multiple sites. |
