Sentient Team
I can’t thank you enough for your time and support in us getting the VR technology off the ground here at NW. You have truly gone above and beyond in your support, and for that we are truly very thankful.
Our session with the Asset Lead Team today went extremely well, and super happy this will open doors to further strengthen the NW / Sentient relationship.
Thanks again

CHALLENGE:
To complete an initial proof of concept virtual reality (VR) training module; to be used in a blended training approach for task hazard analysis training.
The module was to be built to be able to encompass multiple activities in the future that stem from the existing BHP classroom training package.
The VR module aimed to enhance the prior learning and allow the users to gain near practical experience in task hazard analysis situations.
SOLUTION:
In collaboration with BHP, the Sentient team developed the first activity as a proof of concept, designed to allow users to navigate a single-room workshop environment and use the 360-degree VR experience to train in hazard awareness.
We modelled a 3D environment which included up to 32 items with varying degrees of danger, some items were deemed hazards, and some safe, to ensure critical thinking and close inspection by the user was required.
OUTCOME:
An immersive and interactive VR task hazard analysis learning module was created to be used on both the Oculus Go, and the newly available Oculus Quest, that was easy to navigate and catered for all levels of experience.
Sentient enjoyed collaborating closely with the team at BHP and look forward to phase 2 of development.
